Local MP urges residents to join NHS “We Need to Talk” initiative

MP Julian Smith of Ripon and Skipton

Julian Smith, is calling on residents across North Yorkshire to share their views on the future of the NHS as part of “We Need to Talk” campaign.

“We Need to Talk” is a new public engagement campaign launched by the NHS Humber and North Yorkshire Integrated Care Board (ICB).

Running for four weeks from the 14th October, the initiative aims to gather community input on reshaping NHS services to better meet today’s challenges and future needs.

Through a combination of social media, in-person focus groups and a survey, “We Need to Talk” will openly discuss the urgent issues facing the NHS and seek the public’s input on possible changes.

Recent polling by ICB revealed that nearly 63% of local respondents believe the NHS needs to adapt to meet current demands.

Commenting on the campaign, Julian said,

“The NHS is one of our greatest national assets, and it is vital that people in North Yorkshire have their voices heard in shaping its future. ‘We Need to Talk’ provides a great opportunity to share your experiences, priorities, and suggestions directly with NHS leaders. Whether you have faced challenges getting an appointment or have ideas on how services could be better, please do respond to the campaign.”
