Sports shop holds bowling competition for Skipton businesses

On Monday 24th March, local businesses in Skipton came together for a night of bowling organised by Discount Sports Skipton.

The competition was held at Matrix Bowling Alley and featured nine Skipton businesses going head-to-head in a light-hearted tournament.

The idea was sparked after some cheeky competition followed the Discount Sports Christmas bowling night, with several businesses challenging owner Ruth to organise the event.

On the lanes were:

La Caveau
Elsworth at the Mill
North Blinds
Herriots Hotel
Morrisons
Pennine Cruisers
Peter Watson Garage
The Castle Inn

All the businesses took on the Discount Sports team.

Peter Watson Garage earned first place and enjoyed a celebratory bottle of champagne donated by Mark from La Caveau.

Meanwhile, The Castle Inn embraced their last-place finish with a great sense of humour, proudly accepting their consolation prize: a donkey trophy and a packet of Jammy Dodgers.

Ruth, owner of Discount Sports Skipton, said:

“Thank you to all the businesses that got involved. "It was a fun night and great to see both new and familiar faces come together it’s this kind of community spirit that makes Skipton special.”

Owner of Matrix, Paul said:

“We've had such good feedback. It’s brilliant to see local businesses getting together and simply having a fun night out.”
